Motorcycle transport takes a different touch than shipping a car. A bike has to stay perfectly upright, its suspension needs to be compressed just enough to hold steady, and tie-down points must avoid plastic fairings, chrome, and brake lines. Sahara Auto Transport arranges nationwide motorcycle shipping with carriers who know how to do this right, using wheel chocks, soft loops, and ratchet straps fitted to the bike instead of slung over it. Whether you are relocating, buying a bike online, or heading to a rally across the country, we will get your ride there.
We move every style of motorcycle: cruisers, baggers, touring bikes, sport bikes, adventure bikes, dirt bikes, trikes, and vintage machines that deserve extra care. Bikes can travel on open carriers alongside cars, in enclosed trailers for maximum protection, or on dedicated motorcycle haulers. Tell us what you ride and what matters most to you, whether that is cost, speed, or keeping fresh paint perfect, and we will recommend the setup that fits.

What you get
Why customers choose Sahara for this
Bike-specific securing
Wheel chocks hold the front tire steady, and soft loops keep straps from rubbing bars, grips, and frame finishes.
Open or enclosed options
Pick economical open transport or an enclosed trailer that keeps rain, grit, and sun off your paint and leather.
Usually no crate needed
In most cases, bikes ship uncrated, so there are no crating fees and nothing to take apart before pickup.
Detailed condition report
The driver records scratches, chips, and existing wear on the Bill of Lading, so the delivery check is quick and clear.
Trikes and specialty rides
Three-wheelers, sidecar rigs, and vintage bikes are welcome. Just share the details when you request a quote.
Step by step
How Nationwide Motorcycle Transport works
Mile 01
Describe your bike
Share the year, make, model, and add-ons like saddlebags, tour packs, tall windshields, or aftermarket exhaust. Let us know whether it runs and rolls.
Mile 02
Pick open or enclosed
We explain the price and protection difference, then book a vetted, insured carrier with motorcycle experience on your route.
Mile 03
Inspect and secure
The driver inspects the bike with you, rolls it into a wheel chock, and secures it with soft straps at solid frame points.
Mile 04
Unload and ride
At delivery, look the bike over together, confirm the straps left no marks, sign the Bill of Lading, and you are ready to ride.
Pricing
What shapes your price
- 01Distance and how directly the route follows major highways
- 02Bike size and weight, since a loaded touring bike or trike takes more space than a sport bike
- 03Open or enclosed transport
- 04Running condition, because non-running bikes need extra hands or a winch
- 05Pickup and delivery locations, especially rural addresses
- 06Seasonal demand, such as spring riding season and big rally weeks
How to prep a motorcycle for shipping
Start with a wash so you and the driver can see the true condition of the paint and chrome, then take dated photos from every angle. Remove loose items like GPS mounts, tank bags, and anything stored in saddlebags, and fold in mirrors that stick out. Keep the fuel tank low, about a quarter full or less, and make sure the battery is charged so the bike can be started or moved if needed.
Fix or note any leaks before pickup, since a carrier may decline a bike dripping fluid onto the vehicles below it. If your alarm is sensitive, disable it or write down instructions for the driver. Hand over one key and keep the spares at home. Finally, check tire pressure: properly inflated tires help the bike sit firmly in the wheel chock for the entire trip.
